RUBY AND THE BOSS CRICKET

Ruby’s mom spoils her carefree summer by insisting that she needs a thing. Something worthwhile. A passion. Ruby’s older sister plays the violin. Her brother is a chess champion. Ruby is a couch potato. While searching for her thing, Ruby sees a discarded antique dresser on the roadside and drags it home to refurbish. She gives the dresser a hot pink, shabby-chic makeover. She decides that refurbishing furniture is her thing. Then she learns something amazing: the dresser contains an ancient secret that leads her to unlikely friendships, zany situations, and encounters with a trickster called the Boss Cricket.
