Eleven-year-old Haisley Hegstrom has a secret: a magical tomte named Galvin who helps her get ahead in life. But when his mischievous tricks land her in trouble, Haisley's parents ship her off to Inspire Island summer camp to learn about friendship and teamwork—without Galvin's help!

At camp, Haisley bunks with Ruby (and her pet the Boss Cricket) and accident-prone Moonie in a yurt led by the super-cool counselor Bijou. Together, they form "the Gems" and set their sights on winning the Zombie Apocalypse obstacle course.

There's just one problem: the Three Musketeers, last year's champions who'll do anything to win again. When Galvin unexpectedly shows up at camp with news that the course is rigged, then gets captured by the suspicious camp director, Haisley must rally her new friends for a daring rescue mission. Can Haisley save Galvin, outsmart the cheaters, and discover that real friendship is the greatest magic of all?
