Joan Long writes mysteries, suspense, and thrillers. She is the author of The Finalist, a locked-room-style mystery nominated for an Agatha Award for Best First Novel. One of her short stories, “The Extra  Ingredient,” is published in an Anthony Award-winning anthology.

Joan earned her master’s degree in Journalism and Communications and has written for major universities, public television, healthcare corporations, a magazine, and more. She is a member of Sisters in Crime,  International Thriller Writers, the Authors Guild, and Mystery Writers of America.
