JASON MONAGHAN
Jason Monaghan is the author of the Room Z Series of thrillers set in 1930s Britain under the shadow of fascism. He was born in a Yorkshire village from a line of miners and steelworkers and, as often the case in his generation, was the first in his family to go to University. He gained a PhD from the London Institute of Archaeology, specializing in Roman pottery and working on various excavations and shipwreck projects in Europe. In between his career has taken unexpected twists including spells as an anti-money laundering specialist, bank director, and ultimately Director of Guernsey Museums. All this has provided plenty of inspiration for writing mysteries and investigating the secrets of the past.
Archaeology provided the background for his first five thrillers and Jason has also written a historical novel and book of macabre short stories. He is the author of half a dozen archaeological textbooks plus two non-fiction books about history of the British Channel Islands and usually has at least one project in progress.
He travels widely and likes nothing better than hitting the open road in his Jeep with the top open and a Country and Western soundtrack playing.
