The On Pointe Mysteries Murder in First Position (2020) Murder in Second Position (2021) Murder in Third Position (2022) Murder in Fourth Position (2023) The Master Class Mysteries Lesson Plan for Murder (2023) News and Reviews... Praise for the On Pointe Mystery Series “In this limber yarn, Robbins, an ex–ballet dancer, deploys her tartly witty prose to offer a delicious, well-observed sendup of the ballet world... As Leah navigates atop her aching, blistered feet through the labyrinth of balletic cattiness and vanity, the author’s wickedly droll skewering of professional dancers is a hoot that will keep readers turning pages. An entertaining suspense tale adds bloodshed to the psychological mayhem of the ballet scene.” - Kirkus Review [starred review] “From chilly New York City rehearsal days to stormy interpersonal relationships, Robbins brings to life both the intrigue and the ballet world's many challenges. As astute as the action plays out, Robbins doesn't neglect a dash of ironic wit that laces the story with personality and fun. The mystery component is just as lively as the dance company descriptions and the performances themselves. Robbins brings all to life with a pen that performs deftly and artistically, and this will attract both dance-oriented readers and those with little experience with the world of ballet.” - D. Donovan, Senior Reviewer, Midwest Book Review “Lori Robbins gives a master class in murder with her latest On Pointe Mystery, Murder In Third Position. When over ambitions set designer, Maurice Kaminsky is found dead, and ballerina Leah Siderova is almost crushed by his unstable set, she takes a grand jeté into the mystery to catch the killer before he strikes again. With wit and humor, the world of dance comes to thrilling life.” — Cathi Stoler, award-winning author of The Murder On The Rocks Mysteries “So you think you can dance? It’s going to take more than a perfect pirouette to make it in Lori Robbins' brutally realistic ballet company, where one misstep can end in murder. Ballerinas are notoriously strong physically, mentally, and emotionally, but in Robbins' Murder in Third Position, the usual blood, sweat and tears hidden behind the curtains are ratcheted up to a life-and-death crescendo. The mystery of why this series has been nominated for and won major industry awards was solved in the first two pages of this book— Brilliant characters, deviously deceptive plotting, delivered deftly with wry humor, and a setting to die for— A backstage pass to the fascinating world of dance that few of us ever have the opportunity to infiltrate and even fewer would survive. 5 enthusiastic stars.” — Gabrielle St George, author of the Ex-Whisperer Files Mystery series, How to Murder a Marriage and How to Kill a Kingpin For the Master Class Mysteries Exposing and pushing back against the girl-sleuth conventions makes this series debut both familiar and quirky. Robbins reveals just enough about her heroine's life to make her appealing while leaving enough unresolved to whet the appetite for a follow-up. –Kirkus Reviews English teacher Liz Hopewell can teach you a thing or two about the bad things happening at Valerian Hills High School…especially after she discovers the dead body of another teacher on her classroom floor. Lori Robbins’ Lesson Plan For Murder is a not-to-be missed mystery loaded with clues, hilarious dialogue, and a protagonist who makes the grade with an A+ in perseverance. -Cathi Stoler award-winning author of The Murder On The Rocks series |
