About the Author...
Josh Pachter is an author, editor, and translator. Since his first appearance in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine in 1968, he has contributed more than a hundred and twenty short stories to EQMM and other publications; Dutch Threat, his debut novel, was published by Genius Book Publishing in 2023 and was a finalist for the Agatha and Lefty awards, and First Week Free at the Roomy Toilet, his first book for young readers, will be published by Level Best Books in September 2024. Two of his “inspired by” anthologies--The Beat of Black Wings: Crime Fiction Inspired by the Songs of Joni Mitchell and Paranoia Blues: Crime Fiction Inspired by the Songs of Paul Simon—have been Anthony finalists. And his translations of stories by Dutch and Flemish authors have been finalists for the Edgar, Agatha, Thriller, and Derringer awards. In 2020, the Short Mystery Fiction Society presented him with its Golden Derringer for Lifetime Achievement. Recently retired after a fifty-year career as an educator, he lives in Richmond, Virginia. |
