About the Books...
The Last Few Miles of Road (2024) News and Reviews... “Featuring an anti-hero straight out of an Elmore Leonard novel, The Last Few Miles of Road is a twisty-turny country noir with a heart of gold. Beetner conjures up a cast of memorably heartbreaking characters, featuring an angel of death killer trying to make the world better, one hit at a time, and a femme fatale in the guise of a desperate teenager, eager to live a better life than the one she was dealt. Carter and Bree are the 21st century Bonnie and Clyde, and I can't wait to see what's next for them!”—Halley Sutton, USA Today bestselling author of The Hurricane Blonde “Beetner breaks out with The Last Few Miles of Road, a perfectly crafted crime story. Terminally-ill vigilante Carter McCoy is the hero we’ve been waiting for, finding purpose and connection in his waning days as he weighs the moral burden of taking justice into his own hands. I absolutely loved it.”—Laura McHugh, award-winning author of What’s Done in Darkness “Beetner has spun another notable tale here. Noir at its best.”—David Swinson, author of The Second Girl and Sweet Thing |
