About the Author...
Author Alan B. Gibson didn’t write his first novel until he turned seventy, though he’d dreamed about being a famous writer since he was quite young. Language professor, travel agent, adventure traveler, film producer, tech entrepreneur – his careers have always been eclectic. Throughout most of his adult life, however, he wrote and produced television, radio, print, and digital commercials, with a reputation as one of the most innovative and creative in entertainment advertising. Writing as A. B. Gibson, he self-published three best-selling horror/thrillers - The Dead of Winter, Tracked to Kill, and High Voltage. His first book, the psychological thriller, The Dead of Winter, is the inspiration for Blood Seed, a feature horror film in development with his producing partner, Atchity Productions. His debut as a romance/fantasy writer began on a cold, damp, evening in Scotland, sitting around a fire with a dozen or so Scottish crime writers. After asserting (with the help of fine Scotch whiskey) that anyone could write in the romance genre, the group ganged up on him and dared him to write one of his own. Nothing surprised him more than his taking a liking to the genre, and when he finished Summer Thunder in 2019, LMBPN Publishing awarded him a contract with the proviso that he pen three more books and turn it into a series. Thus, Summer Storm, Summer Lightning, and Summer Cyclone became the Magic at Myers Beach series, and is of this writing a finalist in the Chanticleer Fiction Series Award for 2025. But his first love is still thrillers, and in 2024, he signed a contract to write three thrillers for Level Best Books, the first due to be published in January 2026. Gibson was never one to sit still when there was an expedition to join. From diving to the bottom of the Kingdom of Tonga’s sunny lagoons to inject the Giant Clams with frozen clam sperm, to living naked with a friendly tribe in the Amazon rain forest and exploring their dark caves and mud pits, his adventures have often landed him in the hot seat, and those settings, characters, and names a scattered throughout his books. While he still dishes up campaigns for a select group of advertising clients, he also serves as Co-founder and Chairman of OneClick.chat, a video social engagement platform with a goal of mitigating the onset of dimension in older adults. When he is not traveling, he lives in a charming two-hundred-year-old town where he shares his house with a prince. |
